Santa Claus goes broadband in Santatelevision.com [08.12.03]

The old white-bearded man is affirming his presence in the broadband cyberspace. Children around the world can discover Santa Claus' magical world of Lapland at www.santatelevision.com. Using streaming video technology, Santatelevision.com , focuses on topics such as Santa Claus, his elves, Lapland and Christmas around the world. This channel features more than 40, couple-of- minute long, unforgettable Internet videos. Santatelevision.com's content is broadcasted in English, Finnish and Japanese and the channel is open all year round.

This season the new unique Santa Claus stories will be featured and they are the most awaited newcomers on the channel. Amongst the numerous other novelties is an all-exclusive Santa interview, as well as the traditional Christmas season opening celebrations in Rovaniemi, Santa's hometown in Finnish Lapland.

Both children and the young-at-heart will be able to discover Santa's secrets at Santatelevision.com. There is also a section dedicated to Lapland and the magical natural lightshow in the northern sky, the amazing northern lights.

Santa Claus' own unique Internet television channel in Lapland was opened in 2000. During the Christmas season last year more than 200 000 people visited the channel. The highest numbers of viewers were from Japan, the USA, the UK and naturally from Finland. This Christmas the number of visitors is expected to double.
