Joulupukki TV and Akumiitti bring Santa Claus into European mobile users' new colour display handsets [18.12.02]
Santa Claus gives joy for mobile users to Great Britain and Czech Republic
Joulupukki TV (provider content focused on Christmas) and Akumiitti (provider of mobile entertainment solutions) delight the European mobile users with new Santa Claus MMS-services. Joulupukki TV has been the content provider and Akumiitti has provided the technical MMS-solution, which enables sending MMS-messages to the end-users.
New Christmas MMS content includes Santa Claus Wallpapers and Greeting-videos that end-users can send to each other. These videos use Java-based technology developed by Oplayo (www.oplayo.com)
Orange UK in Great Britain and T-Mobile in the Czech Republic offer the Christmas MMS-content to their customers. Tommi Lappalainen, Deputy CEO of Joulupukki TV and Hannu Salminen, Head of Content Services Akumiitti, estimate that the real boom of Christmas MMS Services will occur in 2003, as handsets with colour displays will have become more popular. In addition to Christmas content, Joulupukki TV and Akumiitti offers mobile operators various seasonal MMS-content such as for Valentine's Day and Halloween.
